JANUARY 7 – SECOND COLLECTION – COMMUNICATIONS COLLECTION AND CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY The annual collection for CUA provides funding for academic scholarships. This collection is combined this year with the annual Catholic Communications Campaign, which fosters evangelization through the media and press. 50% of the CCC goes to the national office run by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, while 50% is retained by the Archdiocese for the same purposes. Since this is a combined collection this year, CUA will receive 50% of this second collection, with the USCCB and the Archdiocese of New York receiving 25% each for communications.
