Message from Father Dangelo Jimenez:
Dear Parishioners and Friends:
Greetings! We have a lot of news this week. Father D’Angelo Jimenez has applied to become a priest of the Archdiocese of New York. As is customary with this process, he is being re-assigned. As of September 1 he will be assigned to Holy Name Parish on 96th and Amsterdam. We will miss him. We have been told by the Personnel Board that we should be assigned a replacement priest at the beginning of September. Msgr. Crimmins is planning to return to New York sometime next month and should be free to celebrate Mass. Fr. O’Shea has been promoted in his order and been re-assigned. Unfortunately, he will not be available to celebrate Mass regularly at Blessed Sacrament. He too, will be greatly missed. Deacon Scott should be back with us in September as well.
We are off-budget because our collections are significantly lower than prior to the pandemic. We are grateful to all who continue support Blessed Sacrament. For those who wish to contribute please use our WeShare link on our website.
With all the uncertainties, we have asked Cardinal Dolan to consider re-scheduling his visit to Blessed Sacrament to a time when more people feel comfortable coming to church. Otherwise, things are going well. Our Mass attendance keeps growing and we continue to offer Mass on line on our website. As always, we pray all are well and look forward to us all coming together in Celebration and prayer.
Father David Nolan
