Religious Education for Children
Welcome to our 2020-2021 Religious Education Program!
This year's program is a home study program with each class guided by a Parish Catechist through email to parents.
We will start this weekend, October 4.
If you have not registered, please register this week.
Given all the uncertainties during this COVID-19 Pandemic, though it is a very different program from our usual Sunday School, it is an opportunity to continue your child's religious education both in knowledge and spiritual development. Your child(ren) will be able to prepare for Sacraments and keep up with the yearly curriculum. A Flocknote email was sent to parents with all the information and registration link. If you did not receive the Flocknote or are newly registering your child, go to our webpage https://blessedsacramentnyc.org/rel-ed for more information and for the registration link.....or email [email protected].
The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville Host Virtual Gala
Please join us on Friday, October 23rd for a special dining experience as guests can cook along with Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, a professionally trained chef and host of NET TV's popular cooking show Breaking Bread, at this year's virtual Dominican Gala. Although we can't gather in person for cocktails and dinner, we can celebrate together remotely!
We are proud to honor Suzanne Pugh, RN, Director of Emergency Services at New York-Presbyterian Queens and Sister Flor de Maria Buruca, OP, founder of an after-school program and summer camp in El Salvador.
The Dominican Gala raises critical funds in order to support the ministries of the Sisters of St. Dominic. In response to the pandemic, a COVID-19 Emergency Ministry Support Fund (MSF) was created to raise funds for our frontline ministries allowing them to deliver emergency supplies to those in need, expand food pantries and meal programs, and provide other forms of direct assistance. With thousands out of work in our local area alone, soaring food insecurity and vulnerable people pushed further to the margins, we need your help to continue our outreach efforts now more than ever! With your support, the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville will continue to be a lifeline for those in need.
For more information about tickets, silent auction, 50/50 raffle or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Susan Jappell (631) 842-6000 x 246 or visit:www.sistersofstdominic.org/2020gala. *First 300 guests to RSVP will receive 2 complimentary bottles of wine (shipping included).*

St. Vincent de Paul Society Friends of the Poor (FOP) Walk
St. Vincent de Paul tells us, “We cannot better assure our eternal happiness than by living …in the service of the poor…”.
During the past several months we have all witnessed wonderful acts of charity and compassion. Right here, right now, in our very own parish community you have the opportunity to make a difference. What better and safer way to help our fellow sisters and brothers in need than by participating in the Virtual Friends of the Poor (FOP) Walk sponsored by the St. Vincent de Paul Society!
No comfy shoes, new track suits or BPA-free water bottles required. Starts and finishes at your home! Please donate by October 30 to become a virtual walker by going to https://www.fopwalk.org/walker/55148 and clicking on the Donate to Walker button.
A second collection will be held on the weekend of 10/24 and 10/25 and you can also donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Society on our parish's We Share platform. Thank you!
For more information about the St. Vincent de Paul Society in our parish, please call the parish office at (212) 877-3111. A member of our parish SVdP Conference will return your call.
