Sunday, Nov 4th - Halloween Candy Drive for the homeless The Church & Blessed Sacrament School Connection committee is hosting their first event, a Halloween Candy Drive! Please contact Amanda Koenig Stone if you have any questions at [email protected].
-- Love Halloween, but hate that tons of chocolate and treats haunt your home for weeks afterward? Please consider donating to the Blessed Sacrament Halloween Candy Drive for a good cause! All candy will be donated to a homeless shelter located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Plastic containers will be located at the back of the church for collection. In addition, plastic containers will also be located at the Blessed Sacrament school entrance the week of November 5th. Only wrapped candy can be accepted. Thank you!--
Sunday, Nov 18 @ 1:45 PM - Join the Lectors Club Please join me in congratulating our new student Lectors for the 10 AM Family Mass: Giulia Di Vincenzo, Olivia Stolar, Emily Stolar, Sophia Nguyen, and Zoe Nguyen. Welcome to the Lectors club! Students who are interested in joining this special club, please attend the next Lector training on Sunday, Nov 18 @ 1:45 PM. Training is on the 2nd Fl rooms in the rectory.
Parents! We encourage you to sign your kids up to train as a Lector. By serving in this capacity at the 10 AM Family Mass, this is another opportunity for children to practice their faith. Starting them off young will strengthen and reinforce their sense of what it means to actively engage/participate. Learning how to contribute to their faith community gives our kids a sense of belonging to their parish. We have another small group of kids signed up for this training. Parents, this is also an opportunity for you to lead by example. For more information, email Kimberley LaMarque Orman: [email protected].
For more information or questions on the Family Ministry, please reach out to Thu Nguyen, Director of Family Ministry, at [email protected].

Clergy Sexual Abuse in the Catholic Church
Monday, October 29 - 7:30-9:00 PM
Fordham University
Lincoln Center Campus
McNally Amphitheatre
140 West 60th St.
Please join us for a distinguished panel of speakers who will reflect on the ongoing Catholic clergy sexual abuse crises from their particular scholarly and professional vantage points--psychology, law, theology, religious journalism, and ethics. This conversation is especially timely in light of the recently-released Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report and a wider spate of revelations in the U.S. and around the world about clergy abuse and its concealment. By asking the questions ‘what, why, and what now?’ this event seeks to contribute to well-informed and effective responses by and from Catholics, citizens, and all who are impacted by this reality.
