Finance Committee Corner Last Sunday $8,408 was received in the offertory
baskets at Mass and $4,987.4 was received through Parish Pay, for a total of $13,395.4. Our average weekly operating budget is $15,000. Thank you for so generously giving to our regular collection.
This weekend the annual collection for the Catholic Relief Services is scheduled. By participating in this collection, you are responding to Jesus in disguise in some of the most marginalized communities in our world. Let us join together in this special collection to support those who are suffering and are on the margins of society. MARCH CAMPAIGN AND REPAIR UPDATE:
We have reached our $4,000,000 goal!
Since the formal Campaign to solicit funds for the church’s repair ended in January, about thirty more donors have come forward, bringing the new pledge total up about $180,000 to $4,060,561. Because most gifts have been pledged over the next five years, the Parish Finance Council is working to ensure that the Parish will maintain proper cash flow to fund the repair work every step of the way. With the scaffolding almost complete, the restoration work should begin by the last week of March. Thanks to all who are striving to honor their commitment to this necessary project, and if you are interested in helping, please contact the Rectory for more details.
CRS RICE BOWL: This Lent, our parish community joins nearly 14,000 Catholic communities across the United States to participate in a life-changing Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl. CRS Rice Bowl is a faith-in-action Lenten program for families, individuals and faith communities with family activities, meatless meals, prayers and reflections. Rice Bowl invites Catholics to live in solidarity with our most vulnerable brothers and sisters through the Lenten pillars of Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. For more information, join CRS Rice Bowl’s on-line community at crsricebowl.org.
Place your cardboard Rice Bowl, or a family bowl, in a prominent place to collect the money you save from what you give up for Lent. We will collect Rice Bowls and your donations on Palm Sunday.
Remember, what you give up for Lent changes lives.
